Berkley

Berkley's story is strongly linked with the American dream. It all began in Iowa in 1937, when a 16-year old Berkley Bedell begun to sell the flies he had made to local fishing companies and tourists. For his flies, Berkley used such materials as hair from the family dog and feathers from the chicken kept in the backyard. Berkley's locally sourced materials proved to be a hit with bass for example, and thus Berkley Fly Co. was born.

In 1959, Berkley introduced the familiar monofilament line Berkley Triline, which soon became astonishingly popular.

Today, Berkley is also known for their rods, the Gulp! range of products, Fireline, and many other innovations. All of these can of course be found in the Happy Angler online store.
